How does the equity model work?

Instead of charging upfront fees, we take a small equity stake in your business — typically between 5% and 18% depending on the package. This means we only succeed when you succeed. We do the work, you keep control, and we grow together.

Why equity instead of cash?

Because it aligns our incentives completely. If we charged fees, we'd get paid regardless of whether your business succeeds. With equity, we're motivated to make your startup as valuable as possible — because our return depends on it.

Question 3

Do I really pay nothing upfront?

Accepted Answer

Correct. Zero upfront cost, ever. No retainers, no deposits, no hidden fees. The only thing we take is equity, and that's negotiated transparently at onboarding.

Question 4

How is the equity percentage decided?

It's based on your stage, the complexity of the work, and the package you choose. Launchpad sits at 5–8%, Accelerate at 8–12%, and Venture at 12–18%. We discuss and agree on the exact figure during onboarding — nothing is locked in until you're comfortable.

Question 5

Do I lose control of my business?

Accepted Answer

No. A minority equity stake does not give us voting rights or operational control. You remain the founder and decision-maker. We're a partner, not a boss.

Question 6

What stage does my startup need to be at?

Accepted Answer

We work with founders at all early stages — from pure idea through to early revenue. You don't need a product built or customers yet. What matters most is that you're serious, committed, and have a problem worth solving.

Do I need to be based in Australia?

We're currently focused on Australian founders, but we do consider applications from founders outside Australia on a case-by-case basis. If you're based elsewhere, apply and tell us about your situation.

What industries do you work with?

We're industry-agnostic. We've worked across SaaS, marketplaces, consumer apps, FinTech, HealthTech, and more. What we care about is the founder and the problem — not the sector.

Question 9

Do I need a co-founder?

Accepted Answer

No. Solo founders are welcome and make up a significant portion of our applications. In some cases, we effectively act as a co-builder alongside you.

Question 10

Can I apply if I already have investors?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Having existing investors doesn't disqualify you. We'll just need to understand your current cap table and ensure our equity stake is structured appropriately.

What happens after I apply?

We review every application personally. If there's a potential fit, we'll reach out within 5 business days to schedule a call. From there, we'll assess fit together and — if both sides are keen — move into onboarding.

Question 12

How long does onboarding take?

Typically 1–2 weeks. We use this time to get deep on your business, align on goals, and finalise the equity agreement before any work begins.

Question 13

What does the working relationship look like day to day?

It depends on the package. Launchpad is more advisory — monthly check-ins and async support. Accelerate and Venture involve much more hands-on, embedded collaboration. We adapt to what the business needs.

Question 14

How long is the engagement?

Launchpad runs 4–6 weeks for the initial foundation. Accelerate is typically 8–16 weeks. Venture is an ongoing partnership — usually 6–18 months of active engagement, with the equity relationship continuing beyond that.

What if it's not working out?

We'd rather have an honest conversation early than drag out a bad fit. If either party feels the partnership isn't working, we have a structured exit process. The equity terms and any exit conditions are documented clearly in the agreement from day one.

What do you actually do for my startup?

Depending on your package: brand identity, product strategy, MVP design and development, go-to-market execution, investor pitch preparation, fundraising support, and ongoing operational partnership. We're builders and operators — not just advisors.

Do you have a team of specialists?

Accepted Answer

Yes. MondayXMe is backed by a team of designers, developers, strategists, and operators. Depending on your package and needs, different team members will be involved in your engagement.

Question 18

Can you help me raise funding?

Accepted Answer

Yes — this is part of the Accelerate and Venture packages. We help with pitch deck creation, financial modelling, narrative development, and — in the Venture package — active introductions to our investor network.

Not sure which package is right for me — what should I do?

Accepted Answer

Apply and tell us where you're at. In your application, select "Not sure yet" for the package question. We'll assess your situation and recommend the right fit during our initial call.
